Mental Health Evaluation for Inmigration

This assessment is often used for immigration purposes when a person needs a professional report to support a legal process such as asylum, hardship waivers, VAWA, U visas, or other matters where their mental health and personal history may be relevant. It can help explain the emotional impact of what you have experienced and provide clear clinical information that may support your attorney’s work.
If you are navigating an immigration process and are being asked to share deeply personal parts of your story, this evaluation can help ensure that your experiences are heard, understood, and documented with care. It offers a respectful space to discuss what you have been through and how it continues to affect your well-being, while creating a report that may be useful in your immigration case.
Types of Immigration Evaluations
Focused on individuals who have fled their country of origin due to political prosecution. The assessment will address the reasons for leaving as well as the mental health impacts faced while still living in their country and after relocation.
Focused on individuals who have experienced domestic violence and/or intimate partner violence. The assessment will focus on the abuse experienced and impact it has had on the individual.
Focused on individuals who are victims of human and/or labor trafficking. The assessment will address the mental health impacts experienced through these events.
Focused on individuals who have been a victim of a crime or witnessed one. The assessment will address the mental health impacts experienced through these events.
Provided for families facing potential separation and/or relocation as a result of the immigration process. The assessment may help display the mental health impact on the relative or children of the relative.
Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluation

This type of evaluation includes a thorough review of the individual’s mental health history, current symptoms, and functional needs, as well as an assessment of the animal itself to make sure it is appropriate for this supportive role. The purpose is to determine whether the animal contributes to the person’s emotional stability and overall well-being in a meaningful way.
An ESA evaluation can help clarify whether emotional support from an animal is clinically appropriate and whether the individual may qualify for documentation supporting that need.
Substance Abuse Assessment

It typically looks at patterns of use, the impact of substance use on work, family, emotions, and responsibilities, and whether there are signs of misuse or addiction. The purpose is to better understand the severity of the problem and help guide the most appropriate treatment or support.
